Stand Up Paddle Colorado’s Colorado River experiences operate in the State Bridge and Rancho Del Rio corridor, giving Vail and Avon visitors two ways to enjoy a river day: a guided family adventure or a self-guided trip in a SUP, duckie, or raft.
Choose the guided family adventure for families and mixed-ability groups that want support on the water and the flexibility to try different vessels. Reservations require a minimum of five rentals or five people, and Monday–Tuesday reservations need 48-hour notice. Read our family rafting planning guide for more help preparing your group.
Choose a self-guided SUP, duckie, or raft if you want more independence and your river skills are verified by staff. Single duckie paddlers must be at least 13. Tandem riders must be at least 7 and accompanied by someone 18 or older. Transportation to the put-in and pickup at State Bridge Landing is included.
Every participant must complete the digital waiver before the adventure. Staff complete a safety and skills check, and required PFDs and helmets must be worn where stated for your selected craft. Wear secure, sturdy footwear; a wetsuit is recommended in case you take a dip. Dogs are not permitted on river adventures. Review the current trip details above, make any advance arrangements required for your group, and plan your trip before arrival.
Choose the trip that best fits your group, then use the matching booking option: book the Guided Family River Adventure or book a Self-Guided SUP, Duckie, or Raft.
